AuroraBo's design has exceeded all of my expectations. She is truly talented and produces stunning, high quality works of art. When I saw the logo that AuroraBo submitted, I ended my contest early, and awarded it her; I did not need to see any other designs as I knew they could not compare. Not only am I thrilled with my logo, but AuroraBo is an absolute pleasure to work with. I wish her much success.
thoroughly enjoyed working with Newwen and have a superb design as a result. He has very good taste.
How timsmm started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Provides forward and reverse geocoding for Australian addresses / locations
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
My site is an Australia-specific web service (SaaS) and it needs to have a warm, friendly aspect that validates in visitor's minds that this is an Australian site i.e. warm colours. Think sandy beaches, red deserts, tropical forests and deep ocean. This could also be done by using the imagery of parts of the Australian continental outline. My intention is not to have the same blandness that my competitors do.
That said, my key customers are often software developers so there also needs to be a sense of professionalism i.e. we know what we're doing. BUT please don't hesitate to think very "left field" with the design concept. I would much rather have a design that is striking than trying to be "professional" i.e unexciting.
To date, I have been using imagery from Unsplash as various page headers to date, as I feel they help convey the impressions I've mentioned above.
I'm looking for a landing page but without enough guidance to set a direction for other pages.
