How Carl Fyffe started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our website is a gossip column. We find news about celebrities whose relationships are changing and broadcast it out to our readers. Our target demographic are women of all ages that are interested in celebrities. We have a working website. Now we just need to make it look good! That's where you come in!
The site is about the people, not really about the story. The articles give context to the people but are not really what we care about. We want the title of the article to be present but the name of the person that the article is about (which is currently bolded in our implementation) is the thing that we really want to see highlighted on the page.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
We are a group of guys aiming at a primarily female clientele. We would like a female perspective on what the site should look like. We know that there is no one single answer to female. Don't be afraid to be bold and/or different. We will enlist the help of female friends to help us make the decision on the winner.
The home page is a list of articles with pictures. We kinda like the layout we have now. We need a header with a menu where we can put an About drop down menu and expand later. We need help with the look of the header and the "card" that holds each article.
There is definitely more data available than what can be seen right now. Let us know what you think would be good to add and we can get it in there.
Currently there is a "next page" button, but I think we are going to remove in the future in favor of infinite scroll.
What to avoid
Avoid heavy use of images for styling. The site is already image heavy, if we can avoid more images that would be preferred.
