Hollywood Fringe got their new web page design by running a design contest:
The Hollywood Fringe Festival Website Redesign

Entertainment & The Arts
The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an “open access” performing arts festival - meaning anyone with a show to produce can join. Each year hundreds of shows converge on Hollywood for the month-long festival. We reach practitioners and patrons of emerging and experimental art in theatre, dance, musicals, operas, cabaret and all other genres of the performing arts. It’s an international festival taking place in Los Angeles annually.
The brand is playful and fun, open and colorful, friendly and inviting. Our mascots are called “the freaks” - we’ve attached a document with some representations of these colorful characters to the contest. Note that the freaks have been interpreted by multiple artists and there’s no “correct way” to design them so long as they are generally recognizable. It's not a requirement that the freaks be included in the design. Check out the "What would you like on each page?" section for details on the templates we need designed.

We've included two versions of the logo as attachments. * Each page should have a consistent top-level navigation menu (no dropdowns, please) * Every page should have links to HFF social media sites and a search bar * Every page should have a spot to see who is logged on (can be a dropdown like the existing site) * Every page should have spots for advertisements * Every page should include a footer (see existing footer for some ideas)
What to avoid
We don't like dropdown menus.

The Lion King gave the most creative variations of designs , and the quickest. He was responsive and followed our directions and came back with even more creative suggestions better than what we submitted. Thank you The Lion King...
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
