We’re developing Australia’s first boutique domain auction service. Unlike most auction sites that carry tens of thousands of listings, ours will cater for premium domains only, and we intend to limit ourselves to a maximum of 100 carefully selected listings at any given time. We need a clean, elegant, and cutting edge front page to attract prospective clients, as well as a ‘teaser’ page to entice and collect contact details from potential buyers and sellers.
The winner of this design contest will receive a design contract for the entire site!
Have a look at existing teaser page at http://www.100domains.com.au. Whilst we like the colours and the logo, designers should not be limited by this. Feel free to be creative and come up with your own ideas and concept, including logo, layout, and colours.
Buyers and sellers of quality, premium Australian domains. We want our client's to feel that they are flying "First Class" and not "Economy".
Buyers will be looking for top quality domain names that will make good investments – that is, they will appreciate in value and can be developed into market leading websites.
Sellers will be looking to offload their names to qualified buyers for the best possible price - however, we are going to be very selective about which domains we take on.
We’re initially after two pages for this contest: a Home Page and a Sign Up Page.
The Home page should be designed to draw potential buyers and sellers in. We want two prominently placed buttons, ‘Buy a Domain’ and ‘Sell a Domain’, as well as a short introductory paragraph outlining the nature of our service. We’d also like to list a small sample of the domains currently on offer at 100 Domains, and little 'latest news' box, with a snippet from our latest blog post(s). Plus the normal links / buttons for Privacy, Contact, FAQ, Terms & Conditions, About Us, Help etc. See attachment below of some of the text to go on front page.
The Sign up page should have the same text and form elements as the one we currently have listed at 100domains.com.au, but the other design decisions are entirely up to you. Having said that, we really like the email sign up page listed at LuxuryNames.com (http://www.luxurynames.com/buyers.html), so you may wish to use this as a starting point.
We are probably going to use PHPProBid (http://www.phpprobid.com/) as our backend for the auction system we intend using. Of course, if you have a better suggestion for an auction platform, please let us know!
Remember that the winner of this contest will also win the contract to design the rest of the site too, so please give it your best shot!
Sites we like:
LuxuryNames.com (elegance and simplicity)
Flippa.com (for some of its features)
