We are developing a new version of the Softcenter webpage and we need your help with the design part of the process. The goal of the new design is to make the website more attractive.
The most important aspect of the webpage is to attract new companies to the office building. The second most important function of the webpage is to communicate with existing companies at Softcenter.
Softcenter have an old design standard document that you can find on the link bellow. This document is very old and not up to date so don't let it limit you, but it might give you some useful information.
Download the company logo from here.
Photos of the building can be downloaded here.
We have decided that we want a top navigation on this page so we don't want any submissions with right or left navigation. But we don't have any specific requirements on how you decide to implement it, but some of the top level options will have multiple sub level options and some not so it should fit both cases.
As stated we want a clean, modern and proffesional design (in order of importance). We think of clean as less is more and that attention to details is more important than fancy effects.
The frontpage is the most important part in this competition, it should deliver an attractive image of the company and the buildings. It should also tempt the visitor to look deeper on the site and learn more about the benefits Softcenter has to offer to companies.
The frontpage have to show the the title and date of the couple of last news on the page (the exact number is up to you and what suits the design).
The frontpage should also contain a subscribe to newsletter form with a short description about what kind of information they will recieve.
The frontpage should also contain a box with links to local news articels that we will be pulling in with rss from local newspappers (it should not contain any rss icon).
The frontpage should also contain some kind of image slideshow where we can display attractive images of the buildings etc.
Finally we need a good looking but subtle box that we can use to put short texts and links in to promote specific sections of the page or similar.
Other than that there is only going to be a welcome text on the frontpage, you could copy this text from the current page if you want something to work with.
The content pages are straightforward, the thing we want to focus on here is to style the various html tags commonly used like h1, h2, h3, p, b, i, a. And as stated in the short description we need a single and two-column version.
And here is some inspiration from sites that we like.
Tomp Beer and Spirits (Clean, nice colors, nice boxes)
Smaka pa skane (Nice colors and the polaroid slideshow)

Midroc (The top navigation and image slideshow)
Hemat (Nice boxes)
CA Fastigheter (Nice slideshow and colorful boxes)
