Robing1 got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Postrgram needs a new website design

Art & Design
We make mosiac posters from your instagram feed. Here is a example of something we would do: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11586/Postrgram/Photo%20May%2030%2C%209%2019%2024%20AM.jpg here is our page on etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/101329148/sweet-custom-36x36-mosaic-poster-made The service is extremely simple and fast, just like instagram. The service is also very affordable. $49 for a 3 foot x 3 foot poster. We will have a few products but not many, maybe 3 or 4. I want a website that is simple, beutiful, modern, and fun. The instagram website and app should be a inspiration (like with our logo) but I do NOT want a rip-off design. People should know what product they are getting from looking at the website, but I don't want them to think we are just a cookie cutter business. Here are the instagram demographics that we want to target: By Gender 68.2% Female 31.8% Male By Age 23.5% Under 18 34.4% 18 - 25 30.7% 26 - 35 8.2% 36 - 45 2.1% 46 - 55 1.0% Over 55 By Country 53.5% United States 6.9% Brazil 6.0% Thailand 4.0% United Kingdom 3.5% Australia 26.3% Other
The front page will be a simple introduction to the service. I want it to be fun and vibrant. It should be able to show exactly what we do. You can use stock photos of livingrooms and whatnot and I can photoshop on one of our posters on the wall. On the bottom of the website I want links to two products. a 36x36" poster and a 24x36" poster. The page should be simple, elegant, vibrant, and fun. I want it obvious what we do and I want the "call to action" to be pretty big. I want to lead the eye to someone clicking on a product link to buy it. The next page is the product page. I want to have a gallery at the top of the page to show off a couple photos of the product. Here is a sample of what the gallery will look like: http://galleria.io/ Then I will have some text about the product and a couple buy buttons on the bottom (one for a poster without a frame, and one for a poster with a frame).
What to avoid
Cliche and copycat designs. I want to avoid a site that is too busy with too many "bells and wistles". Sometimes a site with too many rounded edges, gradients, buttons, and icons just feels cheap and not elegant enough. Women will be using my service, so I really want to make sure it is elegant and stylish.
Young, vibrant, fun, simple!
