Travel & Hotel
SnowPak.com is an E-Commerce business in the Ski Travel Industry which offers customisable ski packages for users. Target audience are skiers / snowboarders who want a ski package (lodging, ski lift tickets, ski rental, bus transfers). Our audience are family vacationers and couples.
The focus of this task will be to restyle our existing landing page (https://www.snowpak.com/colorado/breckenridge/packages) to make it more aesthetically pleasing and professional. We prefer a more simplistic style that is not too busy. Parameters: - The logo shape must be intact. The logo colour can be changed but must remain a form of green. - Use of imagery to be restricted to real photographs and not graphics. - We are after a clean, polished look which conveys trust and reliability. Photography: - Prefer photos aligned to subject matter (winter, mountains, snow, ski chairlifts, ski resorts)
Refer to current existing page before reading the brief: https://www.snowpak.com/colorado/breckenridge/packages The objective of the page is to: 1. Direct users to complete the widget 2. Make extremely clear to the users that we sell ski packages and that the individual components of the package can be customized on the widget search (i.e. in live site, users can check or uncheck lift tickets, ski rentals, transfers) 3. Give the feeling of trust and professionalism through our TrustPilot score but also through the overall design and aesthetic 4. Users need to be aware there is a map view if they peruse the website Winning Design: Key focus of the page is to get our users to complete the form and also make very clear they are creating a package with products (that's why we designed the widget that way). We think we have come close to nailing the UI functionality but not the aesthetics. The winning design will be judged by how well it can achieve the page objectives while improving on the aesthetics of the page. Key Elements of the page: 1. The Search Widget: Most important part of the page, the widget clearly communicate to the users they are able to pick products as part of the search (one of the reasons the live site has the product buttons with check boxes at the top of the widget with large icons). 2. Mention of Trust Pilot: To reinforce our legitimacy - The copy text can be changed, the only requirement is that our score on Trustpilot is visible. 3. Map - Map with markings of the ski chairlifts and the property locations are very important. Skiers decide where to stay based on proximity to the chairlifts, so these elements need to be visible and clear on the map. 4. Package cards - The package cards on the left of the map need to reinforce that it is a PACKAGE and include the product inclusions (otherwise users mistake the cards to only refer to lodging). The information in relation to ski in ski out, walk to lift and distance to resort is also very important and needs to stand out. The discount tags on top of the card image is not necessary. The TripAdvisor rating and logo should remain incorporated on the cards. Important: You are free to remove elements outside of what is discussed above to make it more aesthetic - i.e. the copy "Check out our Breckenridge...", the table below the map is not important and can also be removed. Generally elements which do not contribute to the objectives of the page can be adjusted or removed.
What to avoid
- No cartoon graphics - Winter imagery in line with subject matter (ski holidays) is very important
We are very confident in how the live page accomplishes our objectives. However, I think our product is unpolished and lacks in the aesthetics department.
