Lory is a very talented and dedicated designer. The handover process was used for even more iterations of the design and the result is a very complete design package.

How Dirk van der Heijden started their web page design journey
Gemzies.com is a 'stealth' startup, allowing experts around the world to bookmark quality content (sites, videos, photos, books) centered around a single topic. For our planned beta release, we received a 'crisp & clean' redesign of our Alpha-site (attached). However, the designer is 'stuck' - we need to have this redesign properly translated towards the homepage, the entry page and the news page.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Gemzies.com is a 'live' site, currently in Alpha phase. The current design is a bit too 'gloomy', and not in line with the current 2.0 'standards' (clean, white, crisp pages). We did receive a nice redesign for some key pages (see barack obama or videos), but our designer seems to be 'stuck' when translating this design towards 3 other key page types: the homepage, the entry page, and the news page. This part of the job is pretty straightforward, but we need a 'fresh new pair of eyes' to get it done. Next, on the news page, we also need a new type of interaction design, that allows our users to 'post and comment' on news items (similarly to e.g. Digg). We want our 'experts' to 'stand out' next to news items they've posted. The news item should be displayed, including a small 'comment/blog' section, showing the comment of the user on this news item. We are open to your suggestions!
- New design (psd file) for homepage Gemzies.com, based on current 'overview.jpg' and other files sent
- New design (psd file) for 'entry page' Gemzies.com
- New design (psd file) for 'news page' Gemzies.com - based on the new wireframe
- SInce we've started development of the beta release based on the (good) design we've received, we cannot afford 'out of the box' designs. Your work should be based on the new designs attached to this briefing!
