Overview

This is a one-page sign-up form. We want to have about 200 words of text and collect email addresses. That's it!

UPDATED WIREFRAME: The only take-away here should be that we want those elements on the page in that order (header, then text, then form field). Also, the form field should be big, stretch the whole width of the page. Thats It! Everything else is flexible.

About Sociables: A community committed to leveraging social media to spur social change.

We are close to obtaining outside funding to expand Sociables into a full-blown online community and will have a secondary round of development and design in the near future. The designer selected for this job would have an excellent chance at receiving that much more generous design gig.

This will only be a single page form. We envision a a simplistic, but professional Web 2.0 design. We want something that is bold, but not loud.

You are the designer, the only thing to remember is that this will be a social site for a social cause -- Do What You Think Works!

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach

Our target audience is tech-savvy Canadians 25-55 who are comfortable with social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Generally, A Yuppie demographic. They are familiar with 2.0 and we eventually want to give them a 2.0 product!

Requirements

Sociables V1 will be a single page form, please see the attached wireframe.

We envision a a simplistic, but professional Web 2.0 design.

The page will consist of a headline and a written text message. For the body text use different font-sizes to provide visual cues of the importance of some words, similar to wireframe (UPDATED). Base font size should be 15-18 px. The font should start larger at the top and work to the base font size at the bottom.

Below the body text will be one text field where users can submit their email address and a button. We would like something that is well padded out and stands apart from the rest of the design with white space. Please use a sample email address in your design. The Button should be a VERY clear call to action. Will use sliding doors CSS, we need a hover state. It is fine with us if you recycle a button (or any element of this design) from a previous project.

The text field should be clear and dominate, together with the button they should stretch the width of the copy content. We want people to enter their email address, this is the only focus of sociables! For now, all we do is collect email addresses.

This page will need a throbber as we plan on using AJAX. Please show this somewhere in your design.

Please find a way to work the twitter and facebook logos into the design... preferably in a non-intrusive, subtle way.

We want something that is bold, but not loud. You are the designer, the only thing to remember is that this will be a social site for a social cause -- Do What You Think Works!

GENERAL GUIDLINES:
1. Keep in mind this is a site about social change.
2. Simple is better.
3. White space is good.
4. Web Safe Fonts for the body text. You may use whatever font you choose for branding Sociables.
5. Page Width should be 700-800px for content. Could have padded white space in addition.
6. The final design should be in a .psd
7. If possible, logo/branding should be made available in .eps
