7 steps to the job you want
The objective of the website is for people to understand how the job
hunting process works nowadays. There are many things ignored by the
regular job hunter, and this is where I help them e.g. the google
profile, the cv adaptation, the following up part.
All the information of the website is on the first page. Everything it's
been condensed and ready for everyone to view, for free.
I want to help people get a job. I think they can do it using everyhitng
alreayd on the website for free. For those who want more than thatr,
they can leave their emaila ddress and then I'd set up 30 minute calls
with them for each step, help them adapt resumes and cover letters to
offers, and doing mock interviews if they want. This is where I'd get
paid.
But first, I want to see if there is an interest for this kind of
website and if people are looking for this kind of help. So the "paying"
part of the website will not be activated for now.
http://www.brandvillage.com.au/ this design is awesome!
http://theleanstartup.com/ I really like the way this website is set up,
and you saw how I tried mimicking it on my basic content proposal on
jobs.antomontani.com
The vertical navigation to the left I think it's important. I'm not sure about a nav bar on top.
The footer only needs the email input form I think.
I also like a lot the digg.com website, although I understand it has nothing to do with what I want to do!
Monster and careerbuilder websites, whom somehow try to do something
similar to what I want to do, are not really a design I like. Purple is a
horrible color for design on my view. , and I'm not a fan of orange either. Overcrowding the page with stuff is not my thing either, as clean as possible.A designer proposed Pop ups/Modals/Panels instead of scrolling away for seeing every step. I like it. So now you have two choices for that one.
This website will be responsive, so think about how it would look on a mobile phone (or we'll work later on a new design for the mobile version).
Of course, I trust your gut. If you feel something of what I don't want mathces the idea of the website, I'm more than open to hearing from you!
One page with 10 sections:
First section is the landing, second section is the hook, then there are 7 sections dedicated to each step. Finally there is a sign up form.
People can freely browse through all the content of the page, the form is for them to get advanced, paid consulting on job hunting.
The content is already there
Ovecrowded websites. Purple. Orange.
I am totally new to design, so I really admire your capacity to make content stand out. Blow me away! I am seriously looking for someone who understands what this idea needs and if that is the case, I shall respect you and continue to work with you on two more projetcs I have in my head.
