The contest holder provided a general layout of the elements that were to be included in the cover. I went with a rather geometric design for this particular cover starting off with basic shapes - circle for the earth, rectangle for the gate and triangles for the alien ship. This is to simplify the layout since there are quite a number of elements that needs to be on page. Hopefully, this makes each element identifiable even in thumbnail size.

An example is the hell gate which resembles a door frame to infer that it is a gate to another dimension.
